The Learning Center District Board

Under the provisions of the Learning Center Act [21-16A NMSA 1978], the members of the SFCC Governing Board also serve as members of the Learning Center District Board.  The LC District Board is a separate entity responsible for overseeing Higher Education Center (HEC) operations and contracting with higher education institutions to offer accredited educational programs and services.

Mr. Pablo Sedillo, Member, was appointed by the Governing Board and will serve until the next special election in March 2015. Currently serving as a government relations liaison for CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, Mr. Sedillo was a field representative for former U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman from 2003-2012. He holds a bachelor’s degree from New Mexico Highlands University and previously served on the university’s foundation board.

Jack Sullivan, Member, served as a captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is a former New Mexico Youth Soccer Association coach and former president of the New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers. Mr. Sullivan holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Georgia Tech and earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from Stanford University.

Ms. Linda Siegle, Secretary, is president of a consulting company focused on lobbying the legislature for non-profit agencies and strategic planning. She is a former member of the Santa Fe County Health Policy Commission and has served as chair of various state councils and committees.

Dr. Martha Romero, Vice-Chair,
was the Founding Director of the Community College Leadership Development Initiatives (CCLDI) at Claremont Graduate University. As a faculty member, Dr. Romero taught graduate seminars in organizational development at the University of Colorado and in the Community College Leadership program at the University of New Mexico and at the Claremont Graduate University. She served as Vice President for Instruction at Pikes Peak Community College, and as President/Superintendent of the Siskiyous Joint Community College District consisting of two small, rural community college campuses in northern California.

Dr. Romero has authored many policy reports, journal articles and book chapters on leadership, civility on college campuses, and the use of research in decision-making.

Ms. Kathy Keith, Chair, serves as the Executive Director of the Regional Development Corporation, a regional economic development organization. She has more than 20 years of experience in public policy, including working in leadership positions in the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Department of Energy and the New Mexico Economic Development Department. She has worked across the nation as a consultant assisting states and communities in designing and implementing cutting-edge workforce development projects.

Locally, she serves on the Santa Fe Business and Quality of Life Committee and is immediate past President of the Tesuque Elementary PTA. Keith holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Political Science from Texas Tech University.

In 2009 SFCC established a Learning Center District and held their first meeting December 3. The SFCC Governing Board also serves as the Learning Center District Board.
